Queen Mary Christmas, Where Holidays Set Sail - MK REVIEW

December 18, 2019

********** MK REVIEW **********

Putting lights on your roof is never easy. Imagine transforming the already amazing Queen Mary into a Christmas spectacular.   The annual Queen Mary Christmas was absolutely stunning this year. With an entire North Pole Village off the ship, there is so much to see and do. It was very festive and gave the feeling of really being in a village full of lights, snacks, photo ops, singing, music and activities. There is something for everyone, especially the little ones. They even brought in a 20+ foot rock climbing wall suitable for all kids over 48" and under 180 pounds!! The highlight of the event is definitely the ice rink. It is an absolute must and you would never imagine they could put such a massive ice skating rink right on the dock. With perfect crowd control, make sure you get your tickets early so you don't miss out. With so much to see and do, you will want to save a full evening for this event. Take your time and enjoy the festive lights and music. Do NOT forget to visit the 4D theater to see the Polar Express show that will blow your socks off...literally.

Just when your legs are tired and you think you can't go on, there is then the massive gorgeously decorated Queen Mary itself for you to explore.  Get your cameras ready since the photo ops are perfect for that family picture, including with Santa.

Tips:

  • Bundle up since it is cold cold cold.
  • Head over the the Ice Rink even if you don't skate to sit and relax and grab some great grub and funnel cakes. This is also where the booze are.
  • Do NOT forget to save enough time to tour the Queen Mary.
  • If your little ones cannot skate well, spend the $10 to get a penguin/polar bear skating aid that will get them cruising faster than most adults. Wear long thick socks to keep the skates on snug
  • If the little ones ice skate, consider bringing their helmets since ice isn't any softer than cement.
  • If you are under 150 pounds get on that rock climbing wall.
  • There is so much to see but take the time to enjoy all the festivities/music indoors and outdoors.  Near the entrance there are some nice fire pits.  By the ice rink there are covered sofas to relax.
  • Parking is paid on exiting.
  • Don't be scared by the porta-potties near the entrance since there are many restrooms inside.
