If you’ve ever watched a little kid tenderly pet a baby animal of any kind, then you know how special that moment can be. But sometimes finding an actual petting zoo in our nearby community can be a challenge.
Montebello Barnyard Zoo is nestled in the middle of a suburban community hidden inside a regular city park in Montebello, California. Their petting zoo is filled with animals of all sizes and types. You will find goats, sheep, chickens, roosters, ducks, rabbits, ostrich, llamas and even a cow. Some smaller animals roam around freely on the grounds. For a $1.00 you can get a small bag of feed and have your little ones feed the animals.

The most popular ride at Montebello Barnyard Zoo is hands-down the train – a colorful ride that meanders through the petting zoo area where you get a chance to see the animals up close.
Mining for Stones
Another fun activity at the farm is the mining for precious stones. You can purchase a small bag of sand that has hidden precious stones in it. You then can have your kids sift through the sand on the mining stations.Carousel Ride

School Field Trips
Montebello Barnyard Zoo is a great choice for your next school field trip. We offer hands on learning experience with many different types of animals. Your class field trip will enjoy, 1 pony ride, 1 train ride, 1 merry-go-round, and1 admission to the petting zoo.
$7.00 per child, $4.00 per adult, Teachers are Free.
Optional $1.00 bag of food for petting zoo.
